The Hostel Shoppe 1 inch Star Nut for Headsets gets pressed into the steerer tube of an aluminum or steel fork with a 1 inch steer tube. This, combined with the top cap of your headset, and an M6 bolt, is what allows you to preload the correct bearing pressure on your threadless headset. Usually you only need one of these if you are installing a new fork. Works on Volae recumbents or other bikes with a 1" steer tube.
