SportCrafters Trike Trainer Overdrive
The Overdrive Trike Trainer features an innovative progressive resistance roller drum, which gives you a power profile and speed that comes as close as possible to reproducing real-road conditions.
Powered by ARC Technology, the Overdrive automatically adjusts resistance as the rider changes speed – no manual adjustment necessary (red end of the trainer is pointed to the rear for a higher resistance range). At higher speeds, the OverDrive Trike Trainer will ramp up the resistance to realistically mimic road riding conditions. This trainer is perfect for the active trike rider who wants to maintain fitness while riding indoors. It is also perfect for families with varying skill levels. Just turn the trainer around (so that the red end points forward for a lower resistance range) and it automatically functions like a magnetic trainer with low to moderate resistance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to determine whether or not your trike is a 1-wheel or a 2-wheel drive, just pick up one of the rear wheels and rotate it backward (leaving the other two wheels on the ground), then pick up the other rear wheel and rotate it backward. If it is a 2-wheel drive trike, the cranks will rotate backward with either wheel rotating backward. If this is the case, then order the Sportcrafters Two-Wheel Drive Trainer Set. If it's a 1-wheel drive trike, then only the drive wheel will rotate the cranks backward, and the other will not move the cranks backward. If this is the case, then you only need one Overdrive Trainer. Recommend using a Saris Climbing Block under the non-drive side wheel to level the trike.
ALSO NOTE: At this time it is not recommended that these trainers be used with cycles outfitted with Enviolo hubs. The consistent load and cadence offered by Enviolo hubs does not allow an increased load provided by a variable-resistance trainer such as the Sportcrafters. Therefore not enough resistance may be provided. The manufacturer is currently working with Enviolo to find a solution.
- For use with 1-wheel drive delta trikes without a differential, use one Saris Climbing Block under the non-drive rear wheel and one block under the front wheel.
- For use with 2-wheel drive delta trikes with a differential, place a Saris Climbing Block under the front wheel.
- For use with Tadpole Trikes (2 wheels in front) use two Saris Climbing Blocks under the front wheels.
- To keep your floors clean and prevent slippage, place the SportsCrafters Trike Training Mat. under your trike.
**Hostel Shoppe recommends using a trainer-specific tire or a tire with a smooth tread for best performance with trainer rollers. A street tire with more tread or knobbies will wear prematurely and not perform well on the rollers, and will create more noise. Call us at 800-233-4340 if you have questions on what tire might be best for your bike or trike. Make sure your tires are properly inflated before using on your trainer, too.**
